My personal driving force is my firm belief that people can experience a high level of satisfaction through their work – the basis for a successful career. The prerequisite for this is that one’s own talents can be well expressed and further developed at work.
I myself spent a long time looking for my dream job. After leaving school, neither my parents and teachers nor the careers advice centre at the employment agency were able to give me any real help. Back then, I was incredibly envious of all those who could already see their path clearly in front of them.
So it was that I painstakingly made my way from a ‘safe’ banking apprenticeship to a ‘recognised’ law degree, following the principle of trial and error. At some point, I realised that I could combine my professional goals of ‘working with people’ and ‘internationality’ through a career in Human Resources. At the time, I had just celebrated my 30th birthday and had been travelling through life with the handbrake on for a decade.
Back then, I would have liked to have had a sparring partner with whom I could have matched my talents, strengths and interests with possible career fields. Today, as a career coach, I would like to spare you the detours I had to take!
